Srivats Sampath is a serial entrepreneur who brings over twenty years of management, investment and technical experience. An experienced leader, he has run large corporations and organizations, as well as conceiving, funding and building successful start-up companies.
He previously served as Founder, President and CEO of McAfee.com (NASDAQ: MCAF). He built the company into one of the largest and most successful subscription-based SaaS security services for consumers and small-to-medium sized businesses. Sampath orchestrated a successful IPO in December 1999 as well as the successful merger of McAfee.com with Network Associates (NYSE: NET), which has now become McAfee Inc. (NYSE: MFE), in October 2002. Prior to McAfee, Sampath was the Vice President of Product Marketing at Netscape Communications (NASDAQ:NSCP), and was Founder, President and CEO of Discussions Corporations, a leading developer of email-based groupware solutions. He also served in executive-level capacities for Central Point Software and as the Chief Architect of Intel's LAN Enhancement Operations. He started his professional career by co-founding Mecon (NASDAQ:MECN), a healthcare software company, which was subsequently acquired by GE (NYSE:GE). Most recently, Srivats was the co-founder, president & CEO of Mercora, a social music company.
Srivats is also an active investor and director. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Voltage Security. His past and current investments and directorships include, Web Trends (NASDAQ:WEBT), Source Next (TSE:4344), Cadabra (Acquired by Goto.com), Covalent, Tripwire, Determina (Acquired by NASDAQ:VMW), and Real Image, an Indian digital movie company.
